My Story
I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, navigating a life filled with strict rules, deep-rooted challenges, and unexpected transitions. Raised in a household marked by discipline, a devout church upbringing, and limited exposure to the outside world, my life took a sharp turn when a family divorce placed me in one of the city’s toughest public schools. Suddenly, I was immersed in a world of extremes—gangs, chaos, and survival. This dramatic shift forced me to adapt quickly, and through it all, humor became my lifeline. As a class clown, I discovered that laughter could diffuse tension, connect people, and offer me an escape from tough circumstances. This knack for improvisation laid the foundation for the incredible journey ahead.
At 14, I took the biggest leap of my young life by stepping onto the stage of a comedy club, launching a career built on bold risks and creative courage. That initial act of bravery led to a Showtime special at 18, headlining gigs across the country, and a career spanning over 70 national commercials, 40+ TV shows, and collaborations with Hollywood’s finest. Along the way, I discovered the transformative power of improv—a structured art form that mirrored the spontaneous problem-solving I’d been doing my entire life. Improv became not just a performance tool but a philosophy that fueled my growth, creativity, and resilience. Today, I’m here to share how improvisation isn’t just a skill for the stage—it’s a mindset that can drive profound change and growth in your personal and professional life.
